Author: Clare Mackintosh
Mackintosh does it again. I'm not exactly sure how she does it, but she has a way of writing books that are haunting and memorable. I don't think I will ever be able to forget I Let You Go and I See You was just as gripping. I was very hesitant to read I See You (despite reading many good reviews) because I built Mackintosh up to be of goddess proportions in my mind. It sat on my shelf for weeks before I dove in and I'm ecstatic about the novel. It is creepily realistic and left me checking over my shoulder for any potential murderers (more than once I jumped at the sound of the clock ticking). If you're looking for a sophomore slump, keep looking.
