Big Little Lies

Author: Liane Moriarty

This was a story that jumped off the page for me. The characters felt realistic and I was invested in almost all of them. The book builds to a big reveal and despite getting to know each character chapter by chapter, the twist was unexpected, but fitting. Somehow Moriarty took very serious and heavy topics and made them light without trivializing them (ie. things like sexual assault, domestic violence, and single parenthood). Moriarty's voice was refreshing and easy to read. I can't wait to read more of her work.
